Following on from our work on the Varjo VR-1 packaging, we were asked to design the second-generation packaging for Varjo’s virtual reality headsets, so that the sustainability of the solution reaches a new level. The packaging needed to continue reflecting the very high-end position of the product and the Varjo brand.
The opening experience and all details are recognisably Varjo. The lid was designed from brown corrugated board with special attention to all edges to create an elegant and clean look & feel. With minor modifications this solution accommodates three different virtual reality headsets. The challenge was to create the smallest possible solution without compromising the security of the sensitive product inside. New packaging is 20% smaller and 30% lighter than previous.
